박지성 은퇴, 맨유 현지 포럼 레드카페 반응은?

박지성 선수가 은퇴한지 이틀이 지났습니다. 아직도 그 여운이 가시질 않는데요, 여러 영상을 찾아보고 그의 기록들을 살펴보면서도 아쉬움이 가시질 않습니다. 얼마전 긱스가 맨유의 사령탑으로 앉은 첫 경기에서 박지성의 응원가를 부를 정도로 여전히 박지성을 기억하고 있는 맨유팬들이었는데, 과연 그의 은퇴후 반응은 어떨지 궁금했습니다. 예전에는 레드카페를 참 자주 갔었는데 박지성 선수의 이적이후 발길을 끊었던지라 어색하기도 했지만, 박지성 선수의 쓰레드를 다시 한 번 들어가 보았습니다. 긱스 감독 대행이 자리를 잡은 뒤 박지성에 대한 이야기가 나와 지난 5월 5일 많은 이야기가 나왔었고, 은퇴를 기점으로 다시 나온 이야기들을 한번 정리해보았습니다.

Always reliable in the big matches. You can tell Fergie trusted him a lot.

빅 경기에서 가장 믿을만한 선수였어. 퍼거슨 감독이 그를 정말로 신뢰했어

Defensive winger extraordinaire. Helped us Park many a bus away from home in Europe.

놀라운 수비형 윙어. 박지성은 유럽 무대에서 우리를 도왔어. 

Deserves a testimonial. He spent the majority of his career and his best years here.

박수를 받을 만해. 그는 그의 대부분의 커리어와 최고의 날들을 이 곳에서 함께했어.

I was likely not able to fully appreciate his impact when he played for us, now that I look back at his games, what an asset he was. If there is a rating system for squad players, he was likely top of the class for that. Great buy.

나는 그가 우리 팀 선수였을 때는 그가 그렇게 좋지 않았는데, 지금 그가 있었을 때를 생각해보니 그가 얼마나 좋은 자산이었는지 알게 되었어. 스쿼드 플레이어를 위한 레이팅 시스템이 있다면 그는 아마 최고로 뽑힐 거야. 좋은 선수야. 

Could only run and provide energy.

This lazy bullshit still keeps popping up from people. Yes he was small and Korean but he could also pass and move and function extremely well in counter attacks. Oh, and he scored huge goals for both club and country.

뛸줄만 알고 에너지를 제공한다. 

이 말은 아직도 생각 없는 사람들의 입에서 나오는 말이야. 맞아, 그는 작지만 그는 패스를 하고 효율적으로 움직이고 역습에서는 아주 뛰어나. 아, 그는 팀과 국가를 위해 대단한 골도 넣어줘. 

Legend for me.. Incredible stamina, and was Fergie's go to player for big games.

나에겐 레전드야. 믿을 수 없는 스태미나, 그리고 퍼기의 빅게임 보증수표.

맨유에서 27골을 넣었어. 5골을 아스날, 3골을 첼시, 2골을 리버풀, 1골을 밀란을 상대로 넣었어.

Also remember that crucial pass for Hernandez goal after 36 seconds near the end of 10/11 season against Chelsea.

또한 10/11시즌에 첼시를 상대로 시작한지 36초만에 기록한 치차리토의 골 장면에서 만든 기가막힌 어시스트도 기억나.

그리고 그는 피를로를 꽁꽁 묶었지. 

He is exactly the kind of player we lack now. Someone to press tempo and inject energy. It's often overlooked, but just having someone running their rear end off and injecting that enthusiastic energy into the game can bring the effort level of other players up as well. Oh, and he was a tidy and EFFECTIVE player too. Don't forget that.

그는 지금 우리에게 부족한 바로 그 스타일의 선수야. 템포를 불어넣고 에너지를 불어넣어주는 선수. 가끔 주목받지 못하고 지나가지만 누군가 뒤에서 뛰어주고 열정적인 에너지를 게임에 불러일으키는 것은 다른 선수들에게도 도움을 줘. 그는 빠르고 매우 효과적인 선수이기도 해. 잊지말라구.

Ah one of my favorites. Proper quality player.

greatest squad player of all time. Never complained and accepted any role he was given. Was a key player back when we great in Europe. Man marked Pirlo so effectively that Milan virtually played with 10 men. He had a nightmare final season with us. I remember that match against City when he spent the whole game falling over.

늘 최고의 스쿼드 플레이어였어. 그에게 주어진 역할에 대해 절대 불평하지 않고 받아들였어. 그리고 우리가 유럽에서 잘했을 때 키플레이어였어. 다른 10명과 호흡을 맞추면서도 피를로를 효과적으로 막았어. 마지막 시즌에는 그에게 악몽이었어. 맨시티와의 경기에서 좋지 못했어.

He was immense from 2008 to 2011. Always worked hard, always followed orders like a true soldier, never complained, good on the counter, had deceptively good technique, and always played well when it mattered the most. I really miss having him in the team. He was just so damn useful.

레전드. 

그는 2008년부터 2011년까지 대단했어. 항상 최선을 다했고, 절대 불만하지 않고, 지시에 따랐어. 역습에 잘했고, 좋은 기술을 갖고 있었고, 가장 중요한 경기에서 항상 잘 했어. 나는 그가 있었던 때가 그리워. 그는 정말로 정말로 쓸모 있어.

Just watched some season reviews this past week from the late 2000's (It's been a depressing season for us). He was great for us. Was surprised at how great some of his finishes were, never really remembered him for that.

2000년대 후반의 시즌 리뷰를 보고 왔어. 그는 우리에게 좋은 선수였어. 그의 결정력이 좋았다는 것에 놀랐어. 

He was a great player for us. A proper grafter, was three-lung Park.

그는 좋은 선수였어. 멀티 플레이어이자 3개의 폐를 가졌어.

One of my favourite games was when he marked a prime Pirlo out of the game when we played Milan. Pirlo is still bitter about it to this day (see his autobiography).

내가 지금껏 가장 좋아하는 경기중 하나는 박지성이 피를로를 막아서 완전히 경기에서 나가게 만들어버렸던 경기야. 피를로는 여전히 그 날을 씁쓸해 해. 

Yup, he looked so comfortable in any position or role we played him in. The type of player who made our stars shine brighter and he really made himself better using their ability to free space up for him. Always making great runs when the defenders had been pulled out of position by Rooney or Ronaldo just to see Park enter the box unmarked.

그는 어느 포지션에서나 편안해 보여. 그는 우리의 스타들을 더 빛나게 만들고 공간을 찾는 능력을 통해 그 자신을 더욱 더 가치있게 만들었어. 루니와 호날두가 만들었던 공간을 박지성이 치고 나가는 장면을 항상 보았어. 

What a player he was for us.. Fergie placed huge trust in him during the big games and he always delivered.. We could have used a player like him this season..

우리에게 정말 좋은 선수였어. 퍼거슨은 그에게 큰 신뢰를 주었고, 그는 그 신뢰에 보답했어. 우리는 이번 시즌에 그와 같은 선수를 써야 했어. 

His final season wasn't the best, but we parted company at the right time.. Ill always remember that Arsenal goal when ever I think about him, along with the man marking of Pirlo.. The fact Pirlo remembered that game and mentioned it in his book shows how good a job he did that day..

그의 마지막 시즌은 최고는 아니었지만 우리는 괜찮은 시간에 그를 (퀸즈 파크로) 보냈어. 나는 그를 생각할 때 마다 아스날을 상대로 넣은 골과 피를로를 막아낸 것을ㄹ 기억할 거야. 피를로가 그 게임을 기억하고 언급하는 것은 그가 얼마나 그 때 잘했던 것을 보여주는 증거야.

Seems awfully young for a footballer to retire.

축구 선수로 은퇴하기 너무나 어려

so sad to see him go 2 years ago.

그를 2년전에 보낼 때 너무 슬펐어.

Knee injury taking its toll on him, sad to see him retire, he's one of my favourite player to have played for us.

무릎 부상이 결국 그를 이렇게 만들었어. 그가 은퇴를 해서 슬퍼. 그는 우리 팀에서 뛰었던 선수들 가운데 내가 가장 좋아하는 선수중 하나야. 

Amazing player, for a Korean to feature in Manchester United first team squad, played in the CL final, influential in finishing third in their world cup campaign (that's a big thing for an Asian country)

뛰어난 선수였어. 한국인으로 맨유 1군, 챔스 결승 선발, 그리고 세번째 월드컵에서 대단한 마무리를 했어(이 것은 아시아 국가에게는 큰 일이야)

He's a legend in Korea and rightly so, three lung park, a very unselfish players running around covering grounds and doing the donkey work. What a fine player he is, never fazed by being a Korean in Manchester United and simply did what he does best

그는 한국에선 레전드야. 3개의 폐를 가졌고 매우 이타적인 선수였고, 모든 그라운드를 커버했어. 맨체스터 유나이티드에서 한국인이라는 것에 주눅들지 않고 최선을 다했어.

That first half performance at home against Chelsea in the league still ranks as one of the finest individual performances I have ever seen from a Manchester United player... and for that alone, I will always hold the guy in high regard.

첼시를 상대로 리그에서 보여준 전반전의 모습은 내가 맨유 선수들이 보여준 개인적인 활약중에 최고로 뽑아. 나는 그를 좋은 선수로 기억할 거야. 

What a player and person. Model professional on and off the pitch. He is to what Korea what Beckham is to England times a thousand and more. 

좋은 선수이자 좋은 사람이었어. 피치 위에서는 프로였다. 그는 영국에서 베컴이 유명한 것보다 몇배는 더 유명해. 

I'm glad that he produced goals and performances in the big games 

나는 그가 빅게임에서 골을 넣고 좋은 활약을 보여준 것이 기뻐,  

He was a great player for us, always gave 100% and put in some top performances in the big games. Not the most technically talented of players but he was definitely a grafter and you could always rely on him to do his job. 

그는 우리에게 좋은 선수였어. 항상 100%를 보여주었고, 빅 게임에서는 최고의 퍼포먼스를 보여줬어. 기술적으로 최고의 선수는 아니지만  그의 탁월한 멀티플레이었고 우리는 그의 능력을 믿을 수 있었어. 

It looks like injuries have taken their toll on him as I haven't heard much about Park since he left us. It's a shame as I thought he would've gone on for a few more years. Anyway, I'll remember his time here fondly and good luck to him in whatever he decides to do next.

부상이 그가 은퇴로 이끈 것 같고, 그가 우리를 떠난 이후에는 그의 소식을 잘 듣지 못했어. 그가 떠나길 바랬던 몇년 동안의 내 생각이 너무 부끄러워. 나는 그가 맨유에서 있었던 시절을 좋게 기억하고 그가 무슨일을 하든지 좋은 일이 있길 바래. 

 Gives some insight into what actually made him able to play at the highest level despite his perceived shortcomings. He compensated with an additional lung and just overall being an extremely smart and aware footballer.

그의 단점으로 느껴졌던 부분에도 불구하고 그가 최고의 무대에서 뛸 수 있는 통찰력을 갖고 있었어. 그는 더 많은 폐로 팀에 보상했고, 극도로 똑똑하고 주의력이 깊은 선수였어. 

Not sure what season it exactly was, but there was a run of games where he was playing AM with Rooney upfront, and he was magnificent. Exceptionally good and was MOM nearly every game. Scored key goals against Milan & Liverpool in that time period as well and who can forget that performance against Chelsea in the CL, one of the best I've ever seen.

 

몇 시즌이었는지는 정확히 기억안나지만 루니를 앞에 두고 그가 공격형 미드필더에서 뛰던 시절이 있었어. 그는 대단했지. 거의 모든 경기에서 MOM을 차지했고, 밀란과 리버풀을 상대로 이시기에 골을 넣었지. 그리고 첼시를 상대로 보여줬던 퍼포먼스는 내가 보았던 것들 중에 최고였어.

He was a limited player in some respects but he knew what he was good at and performed well when needed. He grew into a key player during his time at United, his industry, tactical awareness and big game mentality made him a key part of Fergie's plans.

 

그는 어떤 부분에서는 부족한 선수였지만 그는 그가 무엇을 잘하고 그가 필요로 할 때 무엇을 잘할줄 아는 선수였어. 그는 맨유의 키플레이어로 성장했고, 그의 성실함, 전술적 능력, 그리고 빅게임 멘탈리티는 퍼거슨의 계획의 중요한 부분이었어. 

Seemed his legs had gone in his last season so it was the right time to move him on. 

그의 다리가 지난 시즌에 문제가 생긴 것 같아, 그래서 이제는 그가 떠나야할 시간이라고 생각해.  

He was the ultimate squad player. Puts our current crop of squad players to shame in fact. 

그는 매우 뛰어난 스쿼드 플레이어였어. 현재 스쿼드에 있는 선수들을 부끄럽게 만들어.

England could use a Park to man mark Pirlo. Jones anyone?

잉글랜드가 피를로를 마크하기 위해 박지성같은 선수를 쓸 수 있을까? 필 존스 정도면 되려나?

Consistently mediocre? Park? What the hell have you been watching?

박지성이 평범했다고? 무엇을 본거야?

One of our best players for big games and an able squad player against weaker teams. He was fantastic for us.

빅게임에서 우리의 최고 선수였고, 약한 팀을 상대로는 스쿼드 플레이어였어. 그는 우리에게 판타스틱했어.

박지성이 2011년 첼시를 상대로 뛰었던 경기 스페셜 없나?

I have also witnessed Park win us a game pretty much by himself - Wolves at home in 2010... we were gash that day, but Park was brilliant, trying to do everything and scored a cracker in the last minue to get us the win. 

나는 박지성이 우리를 승리로 이끌었떤 몇몇 경기를 기억해. 2010년 울버햄튼전. 우리는 그날 좋지 않았지만 박지성은 뛰어났지. 그는 마지막에 버저비터로 승리를 이끌었어.

많은 맨유 현지 팬들은 박지성이 피를로를 묶었던 그 경기 (최근에 피를로가 자서전에서 언급읗 해서 그런 것 같네요), 그리고 첼시와의 경기, 그리고 아스날 전에서의 골들을 가장 기억하는 것 같네요. 레전드라고 말하는 팬들도 있고, 스쿼드 플레이어로 말하는 팬들도 있지만 맨유 팬들이 그를 아끼고 그의 플레이에 대해 찬사를 보내는 것 만큼은 부정할 수 없는 사실인 것 같네요. 박지성 선수의 앞날이 더욱 더 발기를 바랍니다. 감사합니다. 고맙습니다.
